In 2018, 13,092 applications for inventions and utility models were submitted in Ukraine and 11,089 patents for inventions and utility models were registered.
In 2017, 13,161 applications for inventions and utility models were submitted in Ukraine, and 12,032 patents for inventions and utility models were registered.
In 2017, according to WIPO, 3.17 million applications for inventions and utility models were filed worldwide. At the same time, China gains 1.38 million applications.
Of this number, 1,56 million applications are unique, others are derivatives, in particular international and foreign applications.
In general, there are about 13.7 million valid patents in the world.
